Before coming to Critical, Steve studied Computing at the University of Plymouth and on leaving quickly realized that his skills in maths and analytics would be ideally suited to market research. He’s been with the company for more than 11 years now and still loves the moment when a client comes in with a new problem. The process that follows – designing a research project, collecting data and data analysis – is always fascinating and he particularly enjoys projects where new techniques are required. He has worked on a wide range of project types (covering everything from government work to helping to design new mobile phone cases) and his clients include the Lawn Tennis Association, Tesco.com and the Chartered Insurance Institute. Outside of the office Steve is a keen golfer (keen enough to buy lots of kit anyway) and can normally be found on the golf course, in the pub or trailing his girlfriend around the shops. His best holidays are those spent skiing with a big bunch of friends and the small things that make life worth living include red wine, new shoes, good coffee and a pack of Haribo. He plays lead guitar in a band but is not looking for fame and adulation - just hoping that there will be more people in the audience than in the band!
