Simon first became interested in people’s reactions to business marketing and advertising whilst studying Social Psychology at the University of Sussex. On starting his career he knew this was an area he wanted to explore further and market research was the perfect fit. At Critical Simon works predominantly in quantitative research with a fairly even mix of online and CATI methodologies. Simon’s specialist areas are sport, education and retail and his clients include Chelsea FC, the LTA, the FA, ABRSM, Motability and Tesco. Simon enjoys all the projects he works on but gets a particular kick out of projects where the research genuinely helps that business grow, be innovative or take important decisions. Outside of the office he can nearly always be found playing or watching sport. He is a long-term season ticket holder at Watford FC and he also regularly plays for his own five-a-side football team, Udilazy FC. He often runs (and cycles) around Regent’s Park and he recently survived the London Marathon. Random likes include orangutans, rollercoasters and ‘Game of Thrones’ and his dislikes include Championship referees and macaroni cheese. Simon is also very proud of the fact that he can grow a perfect afro.
