Despite a long and distinguished career in computing, Dennis is still proudest of his role as ‘computer boffin’ in one episode of 70’s children’s TV show, Magpie. Managing to avoid the pitfalls of stardom thrust on one so young, Dennis took his ‘boffin’ skills and went on to start his own Computer Consultancy firm in 1981 where he developed the DKapture system. This was after he had worked at CRC for 10 years (where he designed the first CATI system based on a mini computer). Nowadays he manages all of Critical’s systems and oversees software development as well as dealing with day-to-day company admin; but it is the problem-solving jobs he still enjoys the most. Outside of the office Dennis spends his time either playing with the grandkids or playing poker and enjoying good malt whisky. The person he most admires in the world is his wife (because he knows she will be reading this profile) and his best travelling experience was in South Africa where he took in a safari, the Garden Route and a stay in Cape Town. He dislikes Eastenders, bad service and cyclists without lights but loves falafel and jazz. His dream life is the one he has right now.
